December 28, 2007, Newsletter Issue #95: Best Places to Eat in the Caribbean

Tip of the Week

While the beaches, nightlife and genuinely friendly people are big attractions for the Caribbean, don’t underestimate the great food found in the area! People from all over the world stay in Caribbean vacation rentals to get a taste of authentic Caribbean food.

Since the Caribbean is a virtual melting pot of cultures, the dining options change from place to place. In fact, the dining options change from city to city most of the time even within the same country.

If you enjoy Creole food in the United States, the Caribbean has similar food derived from West African origins. While this food is similar to Creole food, the mix of spices gives it its own unique taste. This food is available on such islands as Jamaica, St. Martin and St. Lucia. With the abundant amount of Caribbean condo rentals on these islands, there’s no reason not to try this food!

If you’d rather try food with a more Spanish flavor, consider the dining options in Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic. While this food is similar to Spanish food in the United States, there are some dishes that are unique to the Caribbean.

With water everywhere in sight, it’s not surprising that seafood is a mainstay in the Caribbean. The island of Anguilla is famous for its fresh and tasty seafood. Anguilla is also famous for the beautiful Caribbean luxury rentals.
